The "download category" switch enables a link with which people can download all attachments from a given category as a single .zip file.
Note that PHP's zip extension must be loaded on the server for this functionality to work. The php.ini memory limit will also need to be large if there are any large files in a category, to avoid running into memory use errors before the zip can be written.
