At Admin -> Templates -> Settings you have an option "External links appendage". You can type
In order to make any new template customizations you do obey this, use <a href="http://scripts.webmastersite.net/wsnforum/manual/someexternallink" {EXTERNALLINKS}> in linking applicable urls.
If you're using WSN Links with hits tracking on, note that the one thing you can't affix to external links is an onclick event, since that's already used for hits tracking.
