Sometimes you may wish to censor bad words or common spam URLs. To do this, go to Admin Panel -> Miscellaneous -> Censor / Replace.

BB Codes (formerly called WSN Codes) allow you to replace what would normally be done with HTML with a safer alternative.

You may wish to restrict a page to only be visible to particular usergroups. For example, you may have a custom template page which you only want registered members to be able to view.

Smilies are small graphical faces used to express emotions on the internet.

Normally, you would use Admin -> Settings -> Switches -> Saved Listings to allow members to save their favorite listings. Sometimes, however, this might be inadequate.
|
|
Warning: This is an advanced topic and you should probably consult WSN support about it first if you're not a programmer.

When you only want to use the regular listing type, go Admin Panel -> Settings -> Switches and turn off listing types. This will make all listings be regular listings.

At Admin Panel -> Settings -> System Configuration -> 'Cookie Details', you have a set of options for configuring cookies.

To create a new usergroup, go to Admin Panel -> Members -> Manage Usergroups. The bottom half of the screen lets you fill in details for a new usergroup to create.

Sometimes, you want to make everyone submit to a subcategory on your site and not to a main category. That leaves the main category blank except for the subcategory links.

A moderator, aka editor, is a helper who takes on some of your load in managing your site. They can approve or reject pending listings, edit or delete listings, or edit or delete comments on listings.
|

Warning: The guest page cache system will cause those not logged in to not see a current version of your site. It is therefore only useful for sites where the content hardly ever changes.

At Admin Panel -> Categories -> Category Settings -> 'Levels to display for category selector:', you can choose the number of levels for your category selector.

Occasionally, you may want to sort listings by a criteria more complicated than a single field. The 'importance' field exists to allow you to do this.

To change the permissions granted to users, go to Admin Panel -> Members -> Manage Usergroups.
|

Suppose you want to allow a specific group of users to access particular categories, while forbidding everyone else from those categories.

The site details section at Admin Panel -> Settings -> System Configuration asks for details about the site you're using WSN as a part of.

WSN has three configuration modes. You start off in standard mode.

At Admin Panel -> Settings -> General -> 'Spam Prevention', you have an option to select a spam prevention method.
|
|
You should normally handle tweaks through the tweaks editor: Admin Panel -> Settings -> Tweaks Editor. This guide remains here for older versions and a few special tweaks that have to be set manually.
